I'm first and foremost a Connector. I connect people to others they should know, resources they need and information to make themselves or their businesses better.

I'm an Executive Recruiter and University Certified Executive Coach working at a small, boutique search firm located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Translation? I'm a consultant and advisor to businesses and business leaders in the areas of attracting, connecting, recruiting and developing talent. I'm also a social media addict (in a good way), and I enjoy speaking to groups and organizations about recruiting, networking/social networking and using various forms of social media in their personal branding and employment branding efforts. Basically, I'll talk to just about anybody or any group about anything. I meet great people and learn something new every time I put myself out there.

Why this Blog? I learn so much from reading well-written and interesting blogs by others in the various fields of talent management and the "web 2.0" world (Check my Blog Roll for some of my favorites.) I want to share some of the things that I learn with others, as well as some of my own thoughts and experiences so I can contribute to the "conversation". I'm also interested in connecting with others that I can learn from and who can help me grow personally and professionally.

How did I get here? After almost 20 years working in leadership roles in Human Resources and Talent Management, the company I worked for was sold, and following the changes and centralizations that went along with that - I found myself without a job for the first time in my life in late 2005. At that point, all I knew was that I didn't want to do what I'd always done - but I wasn't exactly sure what it was that I wanted to do. Working with a great Career Coach to help me "find myself", and taking the time to network with business leaders, business owners and entrepreneurs, I discovered a passion for building relationships, connecting people and resources and helping others. Combining that passion with my skills and talents led me to my current role at Centennial, Inc. - an organization whose tag line is Recruiting, Coaching & Connecting. (Very fitting!)

Where have I been? Prior to joining Centennial in 2006, I led Human Resources and Talent Management activities at Fortune 500 companies and privately held companies in the consumer products, automotive and food manufacturing industries. My experiences included working in a start-up, a successful turnaround/sale, and two organizations that doubled in size during my employment. So I know a thing or two about work-related stress (the good and the bad), as well as how to identify, recruit and develop the people needed to make great things happen in great businesses.
